| Entry qualification | Undergraduate diploma (or higher) • a university Bachelor’s degree(min. length – 180 ECTS) in any field (priority is given to those from social science) with a good average grade (min. CGPA>60%), The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English / Lithuanian / Russian. The documents must be legalised (Apostille)by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country where the documents were issued. This requirement does not apply for the documents issued in the EU and Belarus, Ukraine. You must take verified copies of the entry qualification documents along with you when you finally go to the university. The accepted student must bring all notary verified documents which were submitted during the application as well as their originals upon arrival or send before: International Studies Office You will also need Police Clearance Certificate (non-criminal record) from all countries you have lived before arriving to Lithuania for more than 6 months. We recommend to take Police Clearance Certificate not earlier than 1 month before departure. |

KTU master’s study programme in Translation and Post-editing of Technical Texts will appeal to those who are willing to get more profound knowledge in translation and post-editing methodologies and technologies, and to improve their skills in translation technology and management of translation projects. One of the greatest advantages of this study programme is an opportunity to improve written translation skills in different language combinations.
This is an MA+ study programme, which means that while studying, you will have the possibility to acquire individually chosen competences (in management, law, language studies) or select the career as an expert in the field.
Our graduates are equipped with competencies to solve translation and post-editing problems and possess software localization, audio-visual media translation skills. They professionally handle computer translation, text parallelization, term management programs.

Interdisciplinary study programme:
• The programme is unique as it is the only study programme in Lithuania focused on post-editing as neuro-machine translation is an inevitable part of a translator’s work, it is vital not only to develop competences in translating, editing, but also in postediting complex general and domain-specific material from English into Lithuanian and vice versa in line with the professional and ethical standards
Skills in translation and post-editing technologies:
• Particular attention is devoted to the development of skills in using software designated for translation and localization. Students work with internationally recognized translation, post-editing, and localisation software: SDL Trados Studio, MemoQ, OmegaT, Déjà Vu, Wordfast, Passolo, Catalyst, Language Studio, Multilizer, Visual Localize
Competence in translation from the second foreign language:
• Together with translation from the first foreign language (English) students learn translation from the second foreign language. Translation modules of different language combinations are offered.
Competence of an expert:
• Students can acquire competence in the translator‘s expert field by studying Medical Translation, Legal Translation, and Community Interpreting
80–100% of graduates are employed in their field of education:
• Based on the data of the Lithuanian Labour Exchange, at least 80% of the programme graduates work in different translation companies, such as Skrivanek, Alma Littera, Softneta, Bretalita or as reelance translators. Favourabe employment opportunities are guaranteed not only in Lithuania but also in the European Union institutions
Different commercial translation and localization software packages, as well as free machine translation systems are used in the study process:
