Persons with a Master’s Degree or equivalent degree of higher education may participate in an open competition for admission to doctoral studies.

Applicants to the doctoral program in the field of science are accepted by competition according to the competition score. Minimum Competition Score 8.0

The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English / Lithuanian.

You must take verified copies of the entry qualification documents along with you when you finally go to the university.

Language requirements	English If the previous education documents were issued not in Lithuania, they have to be acknowledged in the Republic of Lithuania under the applicable procedures. Evaluation and recognition of the education documents is conducted by the University only upon receiving copmlete package of application for the participation in the competition for doctoral studies along with any other required documents prior to the deadline.

Other requirements	At least 2 reference(s) must be provided. Two separate up-to-date recommendations signed by academic referees or researchers majoring in History and Theory of Arts, Humanities. The recommendations must be issued in the same calendar year when the candidate’s application is submitted. A recommendation must explicitly specify the institution and the science field to which the candidate is being recommended. A motivation letter must be added to your application. Note: 1. In this section you must indicate dissertation topic (from the dissertation topics list given at admissions.ktu.edu/phd for each programme) ONLY 2. Any explicit and detailed motivation must be added as a separate document 1. Official legalised Bachelor’s and Master’s diplomas or a higher education degree equivalents and academic transcripts. 2. A copy of the passport personal data page 3. Curriculum Vitae 4. References by two academic referees or researchers of the science field 5. List of scientific publications (also accepted publications) 6. Copies of scientific publications 7. Copy of application fee payment (40EUR for EU citizens, and 100 EUR for non-EU citizens). 8. Certificate of English proficiency or a proof that the previous studies were in English
