CGPA>60%), The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English / Lithuanian / Russian. The documents must be legalised (Apostille)by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country where the documents were issued. This requirement does not apply for the documents issued in the EU and Belarus, Ukraine You must take the original entry qualification documents along with you when you finally go to the university. The accepted student must bring all notary verified documents which were submitted during the application as well as their originals upon arrival or send before: International Studies Office You will also need Police Clearance Certificate (non-criminal record) from all countries you have lived before arriving to Lithuania for more than 6 months. Overview
Improvement of the properties of materials is one of the cornerstones of the modern world, leading to new, better products and equipment that are stronger, more sustainable and more efficient. It is such discoveries that the graduates of this program seek, who during their studies delve into fundamental and applied physics, study the structure of materials, ways to improve and synthesize materials.
At KTU, the students of MSc Materials Physics receive profound knowledge within physics and materials science and acquire research skills and in-depth theoretical and experimental knowledge of materials composition and improvement of their characteristics. This, together with the mastery of methodology and technique for technological measurements of materials, makes them proficient in processing and analysing experimental results.
• These studies combine fundamental and engineering competencies, with a strong focus on practical skills and the application of high technologies (micro- and nanotechnologies)
• A unique to Lithuania MA+ study model allows students either to aim for excellence in a chosen speciality field or to strengthen their interdisciplinary competencies by choosing different elective study paths
Programme structure
During the studies you will delve into physical phenomena important for the modification and formation of materials, micro- and nanotechnologies. Special attention will be paid to the development of practical skills – you will solve real world industrial and scientific problems related to the application of materials.
After your studies, you will feel confident in laboratories of various types and specializations, which work with the most complex and state-of-the-art research and materials synthesis equipment. You will be able to do this by gaining a thorough knowledge of the application of materials and technologies acquired during your studies.
You will have access to the state-of-the-art equipment and technologies. Throughout the studies, you will be able to use both classical and modern laboratory equipment as well as the latest material formation and research systems located in KTU’s Santaka Valley.
