Overview
Automation is one of the main progress engines acting in all fields of modern human activities. The study programme prepares the Bachelors of control systems who are able to develop, design, install, and service the most simple equipment automation and the most complex technological processes, as well as transport flow control systems by using classical and modern automation solutions, artificial intellect, and computer-based sensors.
Values
From theoretical basics to practical skills of the development of modern automatic control systems:
- The studies related to the automatic control and their realising systems are closely associated with mathematics, physics, mechanics, logics, electronics, and information sciences. Knowledge in all of these fields is crucial for the automation specialist who creates and installs safe and effective automatic control systems that facilitate the household and a person’s work activities.
Studies in modern international level laboratories:
- Renovated modern laboratories are used in the course of studies, i.e. the international training centres created and supported by such international companies as “Schneider Electric”, “Siemens”, “Allen Bradley”, “Festo”, “Wonderware”, “Phoenix Contact”, etc. International accreditation experts evaluated the laboratories as the best in the Baltic States.
The lectures are also delivered by the lecturers-practitioners:
- In this programme, the lectures are delivered not only by the university lecturers who have extensive research and educational experience, but also by lecturers-practitioners who have considerable industrial experience; the students are provided with an opportunity to participate in workshops and symposiums that are organised by the representatives of global companies; therefore, the students’ knowledge is based not only on the theory, but also on the practice.
Good knowledge of the needs and solutions of the industrial automation processes:
- When working in the industrial company, the student who graduates from the study programme understands the industrial processes, analyses their problematic control fields, finds optimal solutions for the manufacturing automation, designs, and installs modern control systems.
Product and service development:
- Are you interested in creating real products and services while studying? It is now possible to test yourself by getting involved in a product development project (PDP). During the project, you will work in teams, collaborating with KTU researchers and social partners. While solving current, relevant problems you will improve your teamwork, project management, and problem-solving skills, deepen professional knowledge and expand your career opportunities.
