Overview

The Applied Chemistry degree program aims to educate chemists with a profound understanding of the methods and principles involved in the synthesis and analysis of chemical materials. Graduates are equipped with knowledge in biological systems, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and functional organic and inorganic material chemistry and technology. They possess the ability to execute standard synthesis and analytical procedures, operate standard instrumental techniques, tackle production challenges, and critically evaluate innovations in the field of chemistry.

This program stands out due to its unique inclusion of modules covering processes in biological systems and process engineering, enhancing the breadth of knowledge beyond fundamental chemistry subjects.

Applied Chemistry programme is a synthesis of the three fields of science. In addition to chemistry, the student will also study biology and process engineering. The acquired knowledge will allow to create innovative materials and products.

Product development projects – get hands-on experience by working on real projects. Enhance teamwork, project management, and problem-solving skills. Lay the foundation for a successful career through collaborations with KTU researchers and social partners.

A graduate possesses fundamental knowledge in organic, inorganic, physical, and analytical chemistry, as well as microbiology, biochemistry, and biotechnology. They are familiar with the processes and apparatuses of chemical engineering, pharmaceutical technologies, and the chemistry and technology of cosmetics. Additionally, graduates are equipped to conduct the synthesis and analysis of chemical compounds.
