Undergraduate diploma (or higher)
• a university Bachelor’s degree(min. length – 180 ECTS) in chemical / environmental engineering with a good average grade (min. CGPA>60%),
• motivation (skype interview),
• proficiency in English: IELTS ≥6.0, TOEFL ≥85, CEFR ≥C1, or equivalent.
The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English / Russian.
Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original.
The documents must be legalised (Apostille)by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country where the documents were issued. This requirement does not apply for the documents issued in the EU and Belarus, Ukraine.
It is required that you send verified copies of the entry qualification documents directly to the university by postal mail. Important! Never send original documents by post!
The accepted student must bring all notary verified documents which were submitted during the application as well as their originals upon arrival or send before:
International Studies Office
You will also need Police Clearance Certificate (non-criminal record) from all countries you have lived before arriving to Lithuania for more than 6 months. We recommend to take Police Clearance Certificate not earlier than 1 month before departure.
If your previous studies have been fully in English and it is marked on your degree certificate or transcript, or noted in a confirmation from the school which confirms that your studies have been fully in English language, additional English test may not be required (the latter is not applied to those who graduated in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, etc.)
If an applicant does not have any official test, online examination may be organised by KTU.
Environmental Engineering Master degree study programme combines technological, analytical and management aspects of the environmental protection. Acquired knowledge and skills of environment quality assessment, application of modern environmental technologies and formed systematic approach provides the graduates with excellent opportunities of finding their place in the contemporary labour market. The programme was updated implementing the project funded by the EU structural support, which increased its internationality.

_“Environmental issues are relevant to our company; therefore it has established the environmental centre. The industry needs universal specialists, who have knowledge of physics, chemistry and technologies, understanding of operation of the equipment for emissions, waste water, water treatment, comprehend the causality of processes. Our company uses on-line monitoring devices; therefore it is important to have knowledge of data processing. It is very important for the graduates to have a common understanding of the legal system.”_– AB “Achema”, Head of Innovation and Advancement Centre, Andrejus Šostakas.
“The knowledge, acquired during environmental engineering studies, is useful all the time, whether they are in the area of ambient air, waste or waste water treatment technologies. Environmental protection is a very wide area and environment components are closely related – when one of them is impacted, some form of this impact is also transferred to another one. Therefore systematic approach is important for assessment of reasons, consequences, possible technological solutions and required legal regulation of environmental pollution.” – Head of Water Policy Division at the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Lithuania, Irmantas Valūnas
