On 28 May, the Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) startup incubator, Startup Space, and its partners invite you to Technorama 2025, one of the most prominent spring innovation events in Kaunas. All are welcome, including schoolchildren, students, lecturers, business representatives, researchers, and anyone who wants to find out about the work of Lithuania’s young innovators.

Technorama has always been more than just a technology exhibition. It is a space where creators from different fields meet, including students, researchers, and young entrepreneurs. This year’s event is set to set a record with 75 works on display. This is the largest number of participants in the history of the event,” says Vaida Morkūnaitė-Mačiulienė, one of the organisers of the event and the Entrepreneurship Development Manager at KTU Startup Space.

This year’s entries include solutions for sustainability, applications of artificial intelligence in different fields, innovations in materials engineering, environmental technologies, tools for space exploration, and ideas to improve our daily lives – from functional food to smart habits.

“Technorama is open to beginners whose ideas are still being developed in the labs or lectures and study modules, as well as those who have already developed a real product or even started a business. Participants are not united by status or experience, but by their desire to create and find solutions that can change the world,” say the organisers.

The organisers note that diversity is one of Technorama’s strongest points. It allows the visitors to find out not only what Lithuania’s young inventors are working on, but also to see what themes and directions will emerge in the future.

Public voting and public pitches are popular

“Technorama 2025 has become a tradition that invites the public to get involved and not just watch – the public is invited to vote and choose the innovation that inspires, surprises or seems most significant for the future,” say the organisers.

The open vote announced on the Lrytas portal by the main communication partner has already attracted a great deal of interest from readers. Innovation enthusiasts can choose from a wide range of solutions, from mobile applications to technical devices that help take care of our health.

The voting is open until 28 May at 13.00. The idea with the most public support will be awarded a special prize at Technorama.

This year, the public pitches also attracted special attention, with almost 30 participants wishing to present their ideas on stage.

“The creators presenting their innovations will have just a few minutes to convince the jury and the audience that their idea is worthy of attention and investment. Due to the record number of people who wanted to present their ideas on stage, we even had to adjust the event programme and extend the presentation time to ensure that each participant could be heard,” the organisers revealed.

The best-rated presentation and product will be awarded a cash prize of €1000.

The prize fund established by a wide range of partners

One of the main highlights of this year’s Technorama is not only the record number of participants, but also the solid prize fund of more than 10,000 euros.

These include cash prizes and special prizes from the event partners.

“We are very grateful to our partners who believe in the potential of the younger generation and contribute every year not only with prizes, but also with their time, expertise and insights. Most of them had joined Technorama for more than a year, which shows that it is a really important event for the whole innovation ecosystem,” say the organisers.

The partners judge and choose which project to award their prize to. Each of them is guided by their own criteria: some are looking for breakthrough technologies, others for social impact, and still others for creativity or potential for development.

This year, Technorama was joined by a wide range of representatives from various sectors: the EIT RawMaterials, the European Space Agency Business Incubator Lithuania (ESA BIC Lithuania), Littelfuse LT, Mars Lietuva, TutoTOONS, Lemona, Festo, Hostinger, the KTU Alumni Association and Startup Lithuania.

The main partner of the event for the third year in a row is the IT division of Rocket Software operating in Lithuania. This year, the company is contributing to the event by initiating the “Pitch Battle” competition and setting up two cash prizes for the participants.

Visitors are an equally important element of the event

On 28 May, the space of KTU Santaka Valley will become a true epicentre of innovation, where everyone is welcome – from schoolchildren, students and teachers to business representatives, researchers and all those who want to find out what Lithuania’s young innovators are working on today.

“This year’s Technorama’s list of participants filled up in record time. However, equally important are the visitors who actively contribute to the atmosphere of the event and, in turn, to the development of innovation. Visitors are often the first evaluators, users or even inspirers of the solutions being developed,” said the organisers.

The exhibition will run all day from 10.00 to 15.30, and will conclude with an awards ceremony. Visitors will be able to see the exhibitors’ stands, appreciate the latest solutions, hear presentations on stage and interact directly with the innovators. The event is open and free to all.
